Not helping the stigma that Australia’s wildlife is terrifying, Australian photographer Sean Scott, posted video of a crocodile’s attempt to eat his drone on Instagram this week.
The video starts serene, if not a little unsettling as the shadow of the drone is seen in murky water next to a crocodile that blends in a little too well with his environment. After hovering for a few seconds the drone and its shadow begins to move. The crocodile decides this is the time to strike and leaps out of the water snapping his jaws right where the drone’s shadow appears. He misses of course due to the drone’s height (thankfully crocodiles can’t jump that high outside of a SyFy movie) and we watch his tail ominously disappear back into the water as the drone zooms out and away.
Let it be a lesson to us all to be weary of getting too close to wild animals, even with a drone.
